This website (https://stretchshop.app) is also an e-commerce solution that is build using StretchShop. This page is editable by the admin user in the WYSIWYG editor. Products page contains a list of products that can be added to cart, ordered, and paid. If you ordered the ZIP version, we automatically generate and zip your release, which you can from order detail.

Challenge

We needed a small e-shop for selling software licenses for StretchShop frontend source code with global payments.

Solution

StretchShop uses StretchShop for its e-shop. In the end, the solution is used as a containerized monolith on the existing cloud, extending base only with few specific functions.

Result

Working e-shop with minimum costs.

This site extending the open-source version only with functions specific for digital download. It's working as a monolith containerized application.

Another page already using StretchShop for few months is the Demo (https://demo.stretchshop.app/). It's a test environment for the microservices version of StretchShop. It is running 7 StretchShop microservices in a Swarm. To learn more about it, click the Demo menu.

Shopify to StretchShop

Getting full control of your e-shop & speeding up your company's e-commerce with options that you didn't think were possible.

Challenge

The customer is growing and wants to have a solution that enables him to have full control and fix the speed issues. He wants to be able to customize the e-shop fully.

Solution

Used StretchShop with frontend changed by design and backend with two new actions extending original functionality. They hosted on DigitalOcean smallest droplet for $5/month as Docker Swarm with 3 microservices - Cart, Order, others grouped into one service. They hired their JavaScript developer.

Result

Eliminated speed issues. The design changed as requested by the user. Monthly costs for running an e-shop lowered from $29 to $5. Initial costs were expected as design change was planned. They decreased their dependency and can make fundamental changes internally and faster.

Magento to StretchShop

Challenge

The customer is more prominent with specific e-commerce. They are looking for a solution that takes fewer resources, while they want to take control of infrastructure back to their hands and switch to microservices.

Solution

Used StretchShop. For refactoring to JavaScript & frontend application, they used their team with our full support and help. StretchShop based solution is much slimmer application than the old one, fully scalable with microservices and their instances. It's hosted on two independent hosting services, creating a Swarm with five microservices - Cart + Order, Categories + Products, Pages, Users, API Gateway, and dynamic instances.

Result

The new solution is more robust in architecture, but it's easier to manage and takes fewer resources, which results in lower expenses, which are periodic and not bound to sales - from $32k per year to $25k. Solution does not limit them anymore.

WooCommerce to StretchShop

Challenge

The customer wants to improve speed, be able to modify more than WordPress allows and to change administration and related roles entirely. They are managing their e-shop themself in a way that WordPress and WooCommerce enable them. They are getting to the point when they need a full-time developer and update what each one should do in their business.

Solution

Used StretchShop as the base solution and our services for consultation, transferring products, design, and coaching of their new JavaScript developer with full support to become independent. We taught them new simplified roles. They are hosted on DigitalOcean smallest droplet for $5/month as Docker Swarm with three microservices - Cart + Order, Categories + Products + Pages, Users + API Gateway.

Result

The new solution has no speed issues. New roles simplified their administration - their administrators don't have to solve technical problems. Their new JavaScript developer can make changes that were hard or even impossible for them before.
